Project Description:
FMA was selected by the LeTort Regional Authority (LRA) to prepare construction plans and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans to show the widening of the trail from its existing width to a maximum width of 10 feet. The construction plans called for the clearing and grubbing and immediate stabilization of all disturbed areas. Portions of the trail were re-graded to provide a level walking path and culverts were repaired and modified with the addition of end-walls as necessary. All debris and existing trees encroaching of the trail were removed from the path, holes were repaired and trail sections were improved to achieve the desired width. Ramps were also constructed at the ends of the existing railroad bridges and associated handrails were reset. All phases of the project required working closely with the members of the LRA, and the maintenance and road crews of the Borough of Carlisle, South Middletown Township and Carlisle School District.
